The prices of building materials are skyrocketing in Kerala day by day, common people are suffering to achieve their dream of building a house in Kerala.

People in Kerala are still recovering from the corona issue. Now due to inflation and higher tax rate, the cost of building materials is increasing day by day. Kerala is a place where there is a lot of rain and another climate change happens so currently there are no alternative methods to change the traditional building method which is by using bricks and cement.

For the past two years, prices of stone, cement, metal, cement blocks, bricks, rods, tiles, electrification, and plumbing materials have been rising steadily, now that construction has become more active in Kerala, the price of building materials is affecting the common people.

Construction companies in Kerala are struggling due to this higher cost of building materials. Not only about building materials, higher cost of fuels affects the transportation facilities too.

Inflation has been attributed to rising fuel prices, lower production, and a shortage of raw materials. The main reason for the recent sharp rise in the price of cement was the shortage of coal. Wire and power cables cost up to 50 percent more.

The government needs to do something about these higher costs, otherwise, the dream of common people to build a house in Kerala will always stay as a dream.
